Hueco Tanks The best climbing by-far in El Paso Texas is found at world famous Hueco Tanks. Over 2000 boulder problems. 100′s of classics and an abundant amount of primo sport routes and multi-pitch lines. Since 1998 visitors are required to obtain an Orientation Card to access the North Mountain within park hours and capacity. A Ranger led guided tour will allow visitors to access the remaining East, West and East Spur Mountains during tours. It’s also possible to become a Volunteer Guide. Organ Mountain – Needles The Organ Needles are spectacular monsonite granite formations rising almost 9000 feet above sea-level. Traditional routes have been established on both east and west mountain faces. Classic peaks are Sugarloaf, Southern Comfort Wall, The Tooth, The Wedge and the Organ Needle. Climbers in El Paso have access to world class climbing at Hueco Tanks, peaceful back-country bouldering at Pena Blanca and classic multi-pitch and bigwall routes in the Organ Mountain “Needles”.
